Top SchoolNikolaos Karaolidis is a Senior Associate Software Developer with six years of hands-on experience building high-performance data systems and web applications, currently at SAS and holder of a First-Class M.Eng. in Computer Science from the University of Manchester. His thesis on OS performance optimization complements practical wins—migrating metrics stacks to ClickHouse, cutting Grafana load times by ~80%, and authoring an open-source Telegraf ClickHouse plugin tuned for terabyte-scale outputs. Comfortable across the stack, he has shipped serverless backends, React Native front-ends, and automated tooling using Python, and he explores DevOps, secure hosting, and cloud in a self-hosted homelab. Raised across Greece, Cyprus and Serbia and fluent in three languages, he brings cross-cultural perspective and curiosity to problem solving. Outside work he contributes to open source, experiments with fintech data integration for real-time analysis, and pursues photography and obscure music discovery—he ranks in Spotify’s top 1% for most obscure tastes.
