Summary
👤
SeniorNikolay Zakharov is a software engineer with 15 years’ experience building scalable, performance-sensitive backend systems and machine learning infrastructure across major search and advertising platforms. He has driven substantial efficiency gains—e.g., a 93% CPU and 47% memory reduction in forecasting workflows at Google—while leading multi-quarter refactors of core optimization components. His background spans system programming in C++/Python/Java, large-scale data/model pipelines, and pragmatic tooling that eliminated repetitive developer work at Microsoft and Yandex. Comfortable designing from-scratch services and production ML toolchains, he emphasizes code accuracy, automation, and measurable operational metrics. Based in the New York City area, he prefers backend and system-level challenges and has a track record of turning complex record-linkage and attribute-selection problems into reliable, testable platforms. An analytical problem-solver trained at Bauman MSTU, he tames diverse technologies rather than being constrained by them.
