Top SchoolNikos Katirtzis is a tech lead specializing in distributed systems and AI/ML platforms with 12 years of experience building and operating large-scale infrastructure at Expedia Group. He architects vendor-agnostic, multi-model AI systems and pioneered internal adoption of agentic patterns and the Model Context Protocol, taking concepts from PoC to production while securing IP (patent pending). He has led reliability and cloud platforms for fleets of 40k+ nodes across hundreds of Kubernetes clusters, cutting log volume by >85% and improving LLM token efficiency and latency by >90% to deliver substantial cost and performance gains. Nikos combines research rigor—an MSc with published work on ML/NLP for code and API usage mining—with hands-on contributions to open source (notably enhancements to the widely used zoekt code-search tool). He’s a recognized conference speaker and organizational influencer who establishes standardized architectural patterns for generative AI services and embeds observability, chaos engineering, and developer productivity into platform design. Based in London, he thrives at the intersection of applied ML, systems engineering, and scalable developer tooling.
