Summary
👤
SeniorNiraj Basnet is a senior software engineer specializing in robotics, multimodal AI, and autonomous planning, with eight years of hands-on experience building real-world perception-to-decision pipelines. Currently at NVIDIA on prediction and planning, he previously delivered ROS2-based autonomous service platforms at Volkswagen IECC and high-throughput palletizing/AGV systems for logistics at Dorabot. His work bridges foundation models, vision-language perception, and motion planning to improve in-cabin safety, situational awareness, and adaptive mobility, often focusing on real-time re-planning under uncertainty. He pairs academic rigor—published work on temporal logic and predicate monitoring—with practical production improvements, such as a 40% system performance gain from architecture refactoring. Based in San Carlos, CA, Niraj favors simple, maintainable code and is passionate about embodied intelligence that generalizes across contexts. An under-the-radar strength is his track record of translating research ideas (e.g., CMA-ES raceline optimization, NMPC/MPCC controllers) into deployable robotics stacks.
