Senior🎓
Top SchoolNoemi Romano is a versatile GIS-focused software engineer and educator with eight years of experience building data-driven web maps, APIs, and database-backed systems for institutions including EPFL, the City of Lausanne, and the Swiss Seismological Service at ETH Zurich. She combines full‑stack development and Postgres database mastery with a research-informed background in environmental sciences to deliver optimized geospatial platforms like GeoINQUIRE and DT‑GEO. As a Maître d’enseignement and former web data visualization instructor, she translates complex data into clear interactive visualizations using tools such as D3.js while mentoring the next generation of media engineers. Equally comfortable in the lab and the field, she brings hands‑on GIS, photogrammetry and remote‑sensing experience from projects with senseFly and LASIG. Outside work she’s as meticulous about long‑cooking recipes and handmade pasta as she is about crafting maps, a detail that hints at her patience and taste for process-driven problem solving.
