Top SchoolNuno Costa is a Senior Backend Engineer based in Lisbon with 11 years of experience building production-grade web services, scalable data pipelines, and search platforms across research and industry. He has a track record of turning research ideas into deployed systems—including an algorithm published at an international conference—and has shipped AI tooling, an Earth Observation SaaS, and a revitalised crypto exchange backend. Comfortable across Python, Flask/FastAPI, Django, PostgreSQL, Kafka and Kubernetes, he focuses on testability, static analysis, SOLID design and measurable performance gains. Nuno regularly bridges ML and engineering, packaging models into resilient microservices and reducing service complexity through reusable abstractions. He’s led multi-team technical vision while mentoring engineers and improving API and architecture quality. Pragmatic and curious, he’s the kind of engineer who investigates why things fail and reshapes systems so they keep working.
