Oleksandr Kosovan is the founder and CEO of MacPaw, the Kyiv-based software company behind CleanMyMac, Setapp, ClearVPN and other macOS/iOS utilities used by over 30 million people worldwide. Since founding MacPaw in 2008 he has scaled the company from a small engineering team into one of the leading players in the Mac ecosystem, combining product-led design with a focus on security through initiatives like the Moonlock division. He also co-founded SMRK, a venture fund backing Ukrainian hardware and software startups such as AJAX and Preply, and helps shape Ukraine’s tech policy and entrepreneur networks through CEO Club Ukraine and Diia.City United. With a master’s in computer science and early roots as a Unix systems administrator, he brings hands-on technical experience to strategic leadership, blending engineering depth with investor and community-building instincts. An uncommon strength is his ability to translate consumer product telemetry into long-term platform businesses that sustain both growth and ecosystem impact.
