Summary
👤
SeniorOleksandr Melnykov is a software engineer based in Menlo Park with a decade of professional experience and more than six years specializing in Android development. He has progressed from Java and Android developer roles to Head of Mobile and now contributes to core products at Meta, bringing both hands-on coding and mobile leadership experience. Known for pragmatic, efficient engineering (self-described as a "lazy" Android developer), he favors solutions that minimize maintenance and maximize developer productivity. His background in system programming (Master’s degree) informs a strong foundation in performance and low-level problem solving on mobile platforms. At companies ranging from startups to large-scale tech, he has shipped Android features end-to-end and led mobile teams through growth phases. Colleagues rely on him for steady execution and practical design trade-offs in complex, high-throughput environments.
