Top SchoolOlga Giraldo is an ontologist and postdoctoral researcher with 11 years of experience at the intersection of molecular biology and Semantic Web technologies, currently based at DKFZ in Heidelberg. She combines hands-on lab knowledge from plant genetics with expertise in ontology engineering, NLP, and nanopublications to make experimental protocols machine-actionable and discoverable. Her work spans project design, community engagement, and building annotation pipelines that keep domain experts “in the loop,” turning narrative lab methods into linked, reusable data. Olga holds an MSc in Plant Breeding and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, and her background uniquely bridges wet-lab practice and semantic information management to improve reproducibility and knowledge reuse.
