Summary
👤
SeniorOlin Blodgett is a Senior Principal Software Engineer with over a decade of professional experience and nearly 20 years working on automated deployment systems, Linux infrastructure, and cloud (AWS) and on-prem data center operations. He leads cross-functional teams at The Jackson Laboratory, architecting CI/CD pipelines, approving and mentoring developers, and owning complex debugging across Java stacks (Quarkus, JBoss, Tomcat) and search/indexing systems like Elasticsearch/Opensearch. His background spans building data-driven APIs and indexers (Neo4j → Elasticsearch), interval-tree genome search solutions, and automated deployment tooling using GoCD, Ansible, Docker, and AWS services. Equally comfortable in hands-on systems engineering and technical leadership, he has a track record of onboarding juniors, documenting system architecture, and enforcing testing and software standards. Outside enterprise roles he runs a consulting practice and has built production systems from distributed video encoders to automated Forex trading platforms, showing a blend of pragmatism and inventiveness. Based in Cambridge, Maine, he champions open software practices and balances deep low-level troubleshooting with high-level delivery and mentorship.
