Top SchoolOliver Batista is an IoT platform specialist and embedded software engineer with 14 years of experience building connected products from firmware to field operations. He has founded and run an IoT startup, led end-to-end hardware and software production, and later brought EV charging and e-bike telematics to market as an embedded engineer. Now at the ICRC he focuses on observability for critical humanitarian IoT deployments, ensuring reliable telemetry and actionable alerts for field decision-making. Comfortable across C/C++, embedded Linux, MQTT and mobile/front-end integrations, he blends systematic algorithmic thinking with hands-on electronics and supplier-side operations. Based in Amsterdam, he pairs a practical maker mindset (ESP8266 firmware to production lines) with a habit of turning customer insights into sustainable, resource-efficient solutions.
