Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Summary
🤩
RockstarOliver Herrmann is a software engineer with a decade of experience who blends cloud-native engineering with hands-on broadcast systems expertise. Currently contributing to Grafana Labs' Mimir, he previously built and operated Illuminate, a centralized configuration and service management platform for large-scale broadcast facilities while developing drivers and tooling that sped deployment and reduced operational friction. He also maintains Boreal Director, an open-source broadcast controller bridging device control, hardware panels, and federated instances—demonstrating a practical focus on reliable automation across distributed systems. Based in Melbourne, Oliver frequently toggles between coding and live-event engineering, bringing rare cross-domain fluency that helps tame high-pressure, real-time production environments.
