Top SchoolOliver Liu is a Member of Technical Staff based in San Francisco with eight years of experience building and researching multimodal foundation models that accelerate scientific discovery. He combines deep academic training (PhD in Computer Science) and hands-on research internships across top labs—Microsoft Research, Meta FAIR, Redwood Research—and a guest researcher stint at the Simons Foundation focused on polymathic AI. At Reflection AI he now focuses on post-training infrastructure and continual alignment to align large models with human desiderata, bringing both pretraining and deployment perspectives. Known among peers as a minimalist programmer, he balances pragmatic engineering with curiosity-driven research into model capabilities and alignment.
