Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolOmar Duarte is a product-focused full stack engineer with 11 years of experience building and leading teams to ship scalable web platforms. He has held technical leadership and product engineering roles at TransferWise and Acapela, and now operates as a contract software engineer from Sheffield. His stack spans TypeScript, Java (Spring Boot), React/Redux and PostgreSQL, with earlier hands-on experience in Python, MySQL, MongoDB and high-throughput services. At Verkkostadi he grew a data-entry product to 40% market share and increased monthly sales dramatically, showing a rare blend of growth-minded product ownership and engineering rigor. Comfortable both managing distributed teams and diving into code (he jokes "<3 rebase and squash"), Omar pairs delivery-first instincts with strong operational and performance awareness.
