Top SchoolOscar Korz is a Principal Software Engineer based in San Jose with over a decade of experience designing and modernizing large-scale backend systems for consumer products. He has led architecture and implementation efforts across Yahoo/Verizon Media and Nest/Google, shipping high-throughput feed processing, GraphQL federations, and GDPR-compliant data portability services using Java, Kotlin, gRPC, and Kubernetes. Comfortable digging into 20+ year legacy code, he has a track record of replacing bespoke scripts with containerized, testable platforms and building hermetic test frameworks for unreliable vendor inputs. Oscar blends systems-level thinking with pragmatic client-focused design, often optimizing performance via custom execution strategies and batching/concurrency techniques. He treats many personal projects as experiments for learning rather than polished showcases, signaling a continuous curiosity-driven approach to engineering.
