Senior🎓
Top SchoolOscar Yu is an architect and engineering leader with 9 years of experience building large-scale systems across TikTok, Hulu, Disney+ and Amazon, currently focused on LLM pretraining and inference engineering at ByteDance/TikTok. He has led teams across search, live streaming, and ML application platforms, combining hands-on architecture work with people leadership through senior engineering manager and principal dev lead roles. His background in recommendation systems and ML platforms at Hulu and core fulfillment systems at Amazon gives him a strong foundation in productionizing data-driven services. Based in Shenzhen with ties to Singapore, he pairs a Peking University M.Sc. in Computer Science with pragmatic product-facing engineering. Not obvious from titles: he has repeatedly moved between deep infrastructure and applied ML domains, making him adept at translating research-grade models into scalable, low-latency production services. He thrives at the intersection of model development, platform engineering, and operational reliability.
