Top SchoolØyvind Misje is a Senior R&D Engineer with over 25 years of experience designing embedded electronics, control systems, and maritime automation for offshore vessels, yachts and subsea installations. He has led product development from sensor fusion and distributed control architectures to autopilots and ECDIS features across companies such as Navico, Seabox and ioStudioTech. Known for bridging software and hardware, he repeatedly ships safety-critical, standards-compliant systems (ISO13628-6, API17F) for demanding marine environments. His background in software and control engineering from NTNU underpins a pragmatic approach to prototyping and scaling robust control solutions. Based in Egersund, Norway, he blends deep domain knowledge of maritime systems with hands-on embedded design, often tackling long-life, low-maintenance requirements that distinguish offshore products from typical consumer electronics.
