Paige Martin is a user training and research software lead with eight years of experience applying physical oceanography and data science to make climate research more efficient, robust, and accessible. Based in Sydney, she currently leads user training at ACCESS-NRI and previously supported NASA’s Office of the Chief Science Data Officer to advance open science practices across disciplines. She co-develops cloud-native, data-proximate tools through the Pangeo community and has a track record of translating scientific needs into practical software and training—especially for large climate datasets. Paige is deeply committed to capacity building, co-organizing and teaching Python and cloud computing at regional summer schools in West Africa and co-leading the UN-endorsed Global Ocean Corps initiative. Her background combines a PhD in Physics with hands-on modeling and open-source engagement, and she brings a creative communication streak (musical theater and acrobatics) to make complex science more engaging. An uncommon strength is her ability to bridge rigorous climate research, production-focused tooling, and inclusive training programs that expand global scientific participation.
