Paolo Avesani is a Senior Researcher and head of the Neuroinformatics Laboratory at Fondazione Bruno Kessler with over a decade of experience applying computational learning to multimodal neuroimaging. He focuses on integrating dMRI, fMRI, MEG/EEG and TMS to reveal brain structure-function relationships and recently pioneered the use of brain photogrammetry for ex-vivo white matter dissection. Paolo champions interdisciplinary collaboration with cognitive and clinical neuroscientists and embeds Open Science best practices into his lab’s workflows. Based in Trentino–Alto Adige, Italy, he combines rigorous methodological development with practical data-driven neuroscience applications. Colleagues know him for bridging advanced algorithmic thinking with hands-on imaging protocols, accelerating reproducible discoveries in human brain research.
