Top SchoolParas Maharjan is a Senior Software Engineer and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a decade of experience building deep learning and computer vision solutions for image/video processing and compression. He has driven research-to-product work across industry labs—reducing inference time and bitrate in SAR and general image codecs, accelerating real-time video tasks, and delivering transform-domain and residual-learning architectures that outperform VVC/H.266 baselines. Equally comfortable in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++, Paras combines firmware and embedded-system roots with advanced ML research, enabling pragmatic, performance-focused implementations from PCB firmware to production inference. Based in Kansas City, he blends academic rigor with industry impact—often squeezing large bitrate or latency gains from careful signal-domain design rather than only larger models.
