Top SchoolPaul Waldo is a Lead Cloud Engineer with 11+ years of enterprise software experience, currently driving cloud-native infrastructure and automation from Roanoke, Virginia. He brings deep hands-on expertise in Go, Python, and Terraform, and a track record of moving sensitive workloads to AWS—building hardened containers and automation for ML pipelines while ensuring DISA STIG compliance. His background spans full lifecycle systems work from low-level FFmpeg bindings in Go for video processing to architecting scalable web and mobile systems at GEICO, reflecting a rare mix of embedded, backend, and cloud skills. A pragmatic mentor and technical owner, he pairs strong security and ops sensibilities with practical engineering: writing infrastructure as code, integrating queues and S3 inventory for large-scale media processing, and using mocks and unit testing to keep systems robust.
