Summary
Pedro Gonçalves is a co-founder and seasoned technology strategist who has spent two decades turning Earth Observation research into operational, cloud-native platforms for institutions and public authorities. After pioneering distributed EO processing at ESA, he helped build Terradue into an international provider of interoperable, multi-mission data infrastructures and now leads its expansion in Portugal. He combines deep technical roots in distributed processing and open standards with expertise in programme structuring, international relations, and avoiding vendor lock-in to deliver portable, sovereign-friendly infrastructures. An active OGC contributor and domain working group co-chair, he influences interoperability practices that make satellite data truly usable at scale. Beyond strategy, he still brings hands-on experience from early browser-based EO processing to modern cloud deployments, blending research, product and policy perspectives.
