Peng Zhou is a neuromorphic computing researcher and entrepreneur with eight years of experience bridging academic research and hardware startups; he co-founded LuxiTech and serves as CTO building brain-inspired large language models optimized for high cognition and low power. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Santa Cruz where his work on spiking neural networks, memristor-based hardware, and neuromorphic systems was co-supervised by leaders in the field. Peng has hands-on startup experience at SynSense and TetraMem, contributes to open-source SNN toolkits like snnTorch and Rockpool, and designs open-source neuromorphic chips—demonstrating rare fluency across algorithms, devices, and system integration. An active community leader (Telluride Workshop topic lead and awardee) and IEEE committee member, he pursues an interdisciplinary approach spanning ECE, neuroscience, and cognitive science while based in Shenzhen.
