Senior🎓
Top SchoolPeter Cappetto is an engineering manager and staff-level software leader with 13 years of experience building production systems across gaming, VFX, medical devices, and AR/ML domains. He combines hands-on technical breadth—from C++, Scala/Akka, Unity, and Python to TypeScript and React—with team and platform leadership, having migrated legacy stacks to type-safe architectures and cut developer effort by over 75%. At PrecisionOS he bridged deep learning, medical-grade pipelines, and FDA-aligned QA to deliver patient-specific 3D mesh generation and 3D U-Net segmentation of massive CT volumes on commodity GPUs. Earlier roles show a consistent focus on tooling and automation—introducing Lua for live game rules, bot-driven server testing, and studio-wide high-availability infrastructure—that reduced bugs and sped iteration. Now at Niantic he brings that blend of product-focused engineering and data-driven tooling to improve Pokémon GO’s developer and liveops workflows from Bellevue. He also has a background in Japanese studies and international education, which helps him navigate cross-cultural teams and product contexts.
