Top SchoolPeter Hanssens is a founder and principal consultant with a decade of experience building cloud-native data engineering solutions from Sydney, Australia. He leads Cloud Shuttle and founded DataEngBytes, a community-driven data and ML engineering conference that has run meetups and multi-city events across two countries. Peter's background spans hands-on engineering—serverless Python APIs, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift and CI/CD pipelines—to strategic data platform work such as event-driven ingestion and semantic layer builds. He has a track record of turning analytics into business impact, from group-wide campaign measurement at Suncorp to building production recommendation engines and large-scale data integrations. Comfortable both consulting and organizing community events, he combines entrepreneurial grit with practical performance and cost optimizations. A behavioural science graduate who blends quantitative methods with engineering, he often bridges product, analytics and operational concerns in data projects.
