Top SchoolPhil Adams is a senior software engineer at IBM Cloud with a multi-decade engineering pedigree and deep expertise in REST APIs, SDK generation, and enterprise Java platforms. He leads the IBM Cloud OpenAPI SDK Generator, turning OpenAPI definitions into language-specific client SDKs that streamline developer experience across IBM services. His career spans roles from WebSphere web services architect—where he contributed to the SOAP/JMS work that informed W3C specs—to healthcare-focused FHIR API implementations for Watson Health. A pragmatic engineering manager and Agile advocate, he pairs hands-on coding with team leadership and long-term product stewardship. Based in Georgetown, Texas, he blends systems-level thinking from chip-design toolchains to cloud-native SDK tooling, reflecting a rare continuity of technical depth. Despite a “retired” note on public bios, he remains actively shaping cloud developer tooling at IBM.
