Top SchoolPhilip Boltt is a Principal Software Engineer based in Vancouver with over a decade of experience building real-time systems for games, virtual production, motion-capture and film. He has led engineering teams and shipped pipeline tools and engine plugins that powered award‑contending VFX and mocap shoots at Weta Digital and in feature film production. Equally comfortable in Unreal and Unity, Philip has designed low-latency streaming, AWS-backed production services, and live-event synchronization systems that bridge virtual and practical elements. He combines hands-on plugin and pipeline development with team leadership and production-side supervision, enabling creative teams to operate at scale in high-pressure shoots. Notably, his independent consultancy work delivered end-to-end virtual production workflows and mocap integrations used across studios and live events. Philip brings a rare blend of creative production experience and systems engineering that turns complex capture and real-time challenges into reliable studio workflows.
