Top SchoolPraneeth Namburi is a research scientist at MIT's Institute for Medical Engineering and Sciences and the Immersion Lab, combining a decade of experience in neuroscience, biomechanics, and computational methods to study efficient, stable, and coordinated human movement. Trained as an electrical engineer (NTU) and holding a PhD in experimental neuroscience from MIT, his work has bridged neural circuit mechanisms of valence in the amygdala with modern movement science informed by artists and athletes such as dancers and fencers. He has applied deep learning during postdoctoral work to probe correspondences between convolutional networks and visual circuits, and now translates insights into technologies and pedagogies for musculoskeletal health. Based in Cambridge, MA, he blends rigorous experimental neuroscience with creative, domain-informed observation of skilled movement to generate practical interventions for movement education and well-being.
