Summary
👤
SeniorRachel Willmer is a veteran DevOps and distributed-systems consultant who has been designing, building and rescuing internet-scale systems for over 40 years. As founder of Hobthross she helps startups and governments migrate legacy stacks to cloud platforms and architect production-ready CI/CD and Kubernetes environments—single-handedly building secure systems that have passed penetration tests with zero critical or high findings. She excels at both “new tech” ambiguity and rescuing ancient, poorly documented infrastructure, mentoring CTOs and junior engineers through difficult trade-offs and migrations. Clients include the BBC, Scottish Government, Motorola Solutions, Elsevier and multiple startups, and she still enjoys solving practical networking puzzles that others dismiss as legacy trivia. Based in the UK, Rachel pairs deep hands-on engineering with a pragmatic, results-driven consultancy style that gets things deployed and certified.
