Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolRafael Chaves is a senior software engineer with 14 years of experience building and modernizing backend systems across Canada and Brazil, currently contributing to the Gradle Build Team. He has deep expertise in Java and Kotlin ecosystems, microservices, compilers and tooling, and has shipped production systems using Spring, gRPC, Kafka, Kubernetes and Postgres. As founder of Abstratt Technologies he single-handedly architected open-source developer tooling (compilers, code generators, DSLs) used to accelerate enterprise application delivery, showing a rare blend of systems-level and developer-experience focus. Rafael’s background includes long-term work on LIMS and Eclipse platform internals, reflecting strong design-for-maintainability instincts and low-level runtime understanding. Based in Santa Catarina, he describes himself wryly as a “luddite programmer,” signaling a pragmatic, craft-centered approach to modern engineering.
