Summary
🤩
RockstarRafael Richard is a seasoned software engineer with over a decade of professional experience and two decades of hands-on coding across languages and domains. He has driven backend and DevOps initiatives at companies from Gameloft to Shopify and Veeva, specializing in scalable RESTful APIs, microservices, and large-scale data integrations. Known for refactoring large legacy codebases and automating developer workflows, he has led migrations to Docker/Kubernetes and built data-mining solutions for big regression datasets. Rafael combines deep C/C++ and Python expertise with modern web stacks (Django, Vue/Backbone) and a pragmatic focus on CI/CD and developer productivity. He regularly coaches teams in agile practices and code quality, earning a reputation as the "refactory" guru who balances engineering rigor with shipping features. Based in Montreal, he writes about code, languages and cultural differences, reflecting a curious, language-agnostic approach to solving problems.
