Top SchoolRafael Zimmermann is a Senior Software Developer with 12 years of experience building cloud-native, data-driven backend systems across e-commerce and travel platforms. He has deep hands-on expertise in Java, Python and Go, and routinely designs microservices on Kubernetes using Kafka, Redis and GCP/AWS to deliver scalable, low-latency features. At trivago he translated ML models into production ranking and user-profiling services, collaborating closely with data scientists to operationalize streaming inference and real-time personalization. Now at Shopify he continues to focus on resilient distributed systems and observability, bringing practical experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Hadoop and BigTable. Colleagues rely on him for pragmatic engineering trade-offs that balance performance, scalability and maintainability. Based in Valencia, he pairs a strong backend systems pedigree with a curiosity for new technologies and cross-functional collaboration.
