Rakesh Kumar
Summary
👤
SeniorRakesh Kumar is a founder and technologist with 11 years of professional experience and a deep research pedigree from UIUC (PhD-level work in computer engineering). He has progressed from hands-on software engineering roles and internships at organizations like Twitter to leadership in data science at iManage and now leads two startups as Founder/CTO. Rakesh blends applied research with product-focused execution, building data-driven systems and translating complex models into production-ready services. Based in Chicago, he is equally comfortable steering technical strategy and rolling up his sleeves on implementation—a trait honed through both academic research and early-career engineering roles. An uncommon strength is his continuous thread from telecom and embedded systems to modern ML/data science, giving him a broad systems perspective when architecting scalable solutions.
