Top SchoolRalf Stockmann is a digital library leader and builder with over a decade of experience shaping user-centered, open-source information services; he currently serves as Direktor Digitale Entwicklung und Verbundangelegenheiten at the Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin. He combines institutional innovation work—from leading IDM projects at the Staatsbibliothek to heading digitization efforts—with hands-on product building as founder of Ultraschall, a REAPER-based DAW tailored for podcasters. An active community technologist, he co-founded platforms like ultraschall.fm, sendegate.de and Mastowall, blending open-source craft with media production know-how. Based in Berlin and trained in social sciences, he’s driven by making libraries feel like a “third place” in the digital realm and by translating that civic vision into practical software and tools.
