Raman Talwar is a researcher and software engineer with 11 years of experience, combining dual MSc degrees in Computer Science Engineering and Information Engineering Technology from Ghent University. He focuses on robotics and human-centered tooling, having built containerized FastAPI backends and visual drag-and-drop ontology editors at IDLab and developed drone-based georeferencing and ML-driven sensor fusion for Jan De Nul. Raman has a track record in interdisciplinary innovation—contributing to SHIFT Mobility Hub and completing Ghent’s Excellence Program “Innovation for Society”—and he brings product-minded research to real-world systems. He’s participated twice in the Open Summer of Code and interned at Barco, demonstrating an ability to collaborate across industry and academia. A former delegate of the European Youth Parliament and awardee of the Boulvin-Van Engelen prize, he blends technical depth with policy-aware, societal perspectives. Outside work he’s a tea enthusiast, curious about solving hard problems through technology and creativity.
