Top SchoolRamkumar Velmurugan is a Lead Software Engineer based in Toronto with 11 years of experience building high-quality Android, JavaEE, iOS, and backend services with a strong focus on rapid prototyping and exceptional user experience. He combines hands-on expertise in Python, Kotlin/Java, and cloud-native microservices (AWS, Aurora, DynamoDB) to deliver production-grade telemetry, mobile, and backend systems while improving throughput and reducing latency. At General Motors he led telemetry ingestion and JVM tuning efforts that boosted processing throughput by 30% and reduced OOM incidents, and he contributes to Android SystemUI work upstream in AOSP. His background spans full-stack delivery—from Spring Boot microservices and CI/CD to cross-platform mobile apps (Xamarin, React Native) and security plugins—plus research interests in Mobile Cloud Computing, ML, NLP, and big-data mining. Known for mentoring engineers and promoting TDD and MVVM, he blends academic rigor (MSc in Computer Science) with pragmatic product shipping. A notable non-obvious strength is his habit of embedding Python tooling into engineering workflows for automation and data-driven validation, accelerating delivery and quality.
