Top SchoolRamsay Smith is an electrical engineer and software hobbyist based in Beaumont, Texas, with a decade of hands-on experience in industrial power systems and automation. At ExxonMobil he has progressed from instrumentation intern roles to overseeing 600MW of gas- and steam-turbine generation, designing protective relaying/excitation systems and modernizing MV/LV infrastructure including EV charging and industrial Ethernet monitoring. He co-founded Gradebook and contributes front-end development expertise in Angular and TypeScript, blending technical delivery with business and financial management. Known for identifying infrastructure vulnerabilities and delivering pragmatic mitigations, Ramsay pairs field troubleshooting of drives and synchronous machines with systems-level planning like large switchgear replacement. He brings a practical maker’s mindset—equally comfortable coding a web UI or commissioning plant controls—and a clear focus on reliability, safety, and electrification.
