Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolRanae Dietzel is a Senior Soil Scientist with over a decade of experience translating soil biology and microbial mechanisms into predictive models and actionable agronomic recommendations. Her career bridges mechanistic soil-process research, field experiment design, and production analytics—most recently delivering hybrid- and environment-specific corn seeding rate models used by over 80,000 North American customers. Trained with a PhD in Sustainable Agriculture and a strong foundation in soil ecology, she has led lab and field teams, taught data stewardship and R, and secured competitive grants including a NIFA fellowship. Ranae emphasizes that breakthroughs come as much from robust data stewardship and collaborative teams as from scientific complexity, and she seeks roles that combine model and dashboard development with building high-functioning, supported teams. Based in Ames, Iowa, she brings a rare blend of bench-level microbial insight and practical, scaled agronomic impact.
