Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolRandy Abson is a seasoned engineering leader and founder with over 20 years of experience building cloud-native platforms, developer tooling, and high-scale mobile experiences. Most recently he led engineering for Shopify’s Shop app, balancing hands-on architectural contributions with cross-functional strategy to drive engagement and GMV growth, and now is solo‑building Tourlu, an AI tour guide that went from idea to production-ready SaaS in three months. His background spans production engineering, platform tooling for thousands of teams, and enterprise multi-tenant SaaS—skills he uses to improve reliability, developer velocity, and product-driven outcomes. Known as a player-coach, he mentors engineering leaders while still diving into code and architecture, and prefers solving systemic problems that scale rather than ad hoc fixes. Based in Ottawa, he combines product sensibility with operational rigor to turn complex technical challenges into pragmatic, customer-facing solutions.
