Senior🎓
Top SchoolRandy Bias is a veteran cloud strategist, entrepreneur, and open source evangelist with over two decades of hands-on experience building and scaling cloud infrastructure and communities. Currently VP Strategy & Technology at Mirantis, he leads AI/ML strategy, agentic platform R&D, and enterprise OSPO initiatives while advising on sovereign AI GPU cloud architectures. He founded Cloudscaling (acquired by EMC), helped pioneer OpenStack and early hyperscale thinking, and orchestrated first-of-their-kind clouds for customers including AT&T, KT, and Walmart. Known for coining “cloud scale/cloudscaling” and popularizing the pets vs. cattle framing, Randy combines pragmatic engineering leadership with political savvy to convert proprietary ISVs into open source collaborators. Based in Bratislava, he pairs an autodidact’s curiosity with a track record of rebooting open source projects and driving measurable business outcomes through community-first strategies.
