Senior🎓
Top SchoolRaphael De Souza is a pragmatic full-stack software engineer with eight years of experience and a recent focus on building scalable, testable web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and AWS. He has led teams and architected solutions that improved test coverage to ~90% and cut project bootstrap time by up to 70%, combining Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles with practical OOP. His background spans startups and enterprise environments—from crypto integrations and event platforms to monitoring global e-commerce infrastructure—so he moves comfortably between low-level performance tuning (e.g., MongoDB query optimizations) and high-level product tradeoffs. At Convergence he drove major frontend refactors and ACL redesigns, and now contributes at Scoop while continuing to ship end-to-end features. Uncommonly for a web engineer, he brings prior product development and tooling experience from manufacturing roles, which informs a systems-level approach to design and lifecycle management. Based in Vancouver, he balances hands-on engineering with mentoring and architectural leadership to deliver user-focused, maintainable systems.
