Ray Opoku is a data scientist and AI engineer with eight years of experience building predictive models, visualizations, and large-scale analytics pipelines using Python, R, SQL, SAS and Hadoop. He applies advanced machine learning (regression, classification, clustering, ensembles) and time-series/stochastic methods across risk, credit, microfinance and higher-education research, translating complex datasets into actionable institutional decisions. At the University of Florida he combines applied research, AI engineering and graduate teaching, while previously delivering dashboards and migration support for university systems and financial services. Comfortable across academic and operational settings, he pairs strong statistical rigor with practical reporting and dashboarding skills (Tableau, RStudio) to drive stakeholder outcomes. An underappreciated strength is his dual masters in Data Science and Economics, which gives him both modeling depth and domain intuition for risk and policy questions.
