Top SchoolRaymond Hink is a cybersecurity research staff scientist with 13 years of hands-on experience applying data mining and network forensics to real-world problems at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He combines deep academic training—currently a PhD candidate at West Virginia University and an M.S. in Computer Science—with practical experience building Java-based monitoring frameworks to identify initial seeders and track illicit activity on BitTorrent. Raymond’s work spans power systems cyber security and P2P network analysis, and he has repeatedly moved prototype tools into production-ready systems using technologies like Solr for scalable logging. Early in his career he led multidisciplinary student engineering teams and mentored high school robotics projects, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to education and applied research. He also brings domain-specific experience in digital forensics, OCR-enabled resume processing, and collaborating with law enforcement and national labs—skills that make him effective at bridging research, operational needs, and policy contexts. Quietly versatile, he pairs systems-level thinking with low-level protocol expertise developed over a decade of iterative internships and research roles.
