Top SchoolReagan Mcfarland is a Senior Software Engineer based in New York with nine years of hands-on experience building production software across finance, ML, mobile, and voice platforms. He has a track record of shipping end-to-end systems—from React/React Native frontends and Node/Django backends to AWS-hosted services and algorithmic trading tools—and has repeatedly moved between startups and institutional finance (Balyasny, Walleye Capital). Early freelancing and founding Farnam Technologies show entrepreneurial drive and a penchant for practical, revenue-generating engineering. He’s applied deep learning to biomedical image segmentation in research settings and translated those ML skills into product features like image-recognition apps and automation pipelines. Comfortable in both greenfield startups and highly regulated trading environments, he blends rapid prototyping instincts with production-grade discipline. A continual learner and polyglot developer, he often pairs UX-minded front-end work with data-driven backend systems.
