Top SchoolReagan Middlebrook is a pragmatic software engineer with 11 years of experience building reliable backend, full-stack, and mobile systems, currently driving architecture and privacy work from Seattle. Known for finding systemic blind spots, Reagan has uncovered PHI logging across 55 repos, remediated 38 unalerted DLQs, and delivered a company-wide PagerDuty integration to close long-standing operational gaps. At Indeed they led a zero-downtime redesign across five microservices that boosted DAU 30% and message volume 20%, and at Snapchat they localized Context Cards, increasing context-menu DAU by 509%. As the solo founder and engineer of Cupbearer, they shipped a cross-platform app with GDPR/CCPA and Global Privacy Control compliance, revealing an attention to legal-technical detail few product engineers develop. Comfortable writing design docs, cross-team coordination, and building extensible patterns that get adopted broadly, Reagan blends hands-on coding with systemic fixes that prevent recurring incidents. They pair a maker’s mindset with a defender’s eye for privacy and observability, turning thorny problems into repeatable solutions.
