Top SchoolReem Ashour is a lead researcher and research engineer with 12 years of experience driving robotics and autonomy projects from Khalifa University research to industry deployment at the Technology Innovation Institute. She specializes in multi-modal mapping, semantic-aware exploration, and UAV/robot perception and actuation, with deep hands-on experience using robotics operating systems and AI for mapping, labeling, and risk assessment in indoor environments. A proven team player and technical leader, she moves projects from research gaps to practical solutions and has supervised teaching and lab work during her doctoral and master's studies. Notably, her PhD work at KUCARS combined semantic mapping with multi-sensor risk assessment for UAVs—an uncommon blend of perception, safety analysis, and applied autonomy. Based in Abu Dhabi, she bridges academic rigor and applied innovation to deliver research that informs real-world robotic systems.
