Senior🎓
Top SchoolReinier De Valk is a research scientist blending a PhD in computer science with formal training in musicology and classical guitar to advance music information retrieval and computational musicology. With over a decade of experience, he has improved production recommender systems and audio analysis pipelines at Moodagent and led ML research at music-focused startups and universities. His work spans machine learning, audio signal processing, and digital humanities—designing tools for digitised tablatures and contributing to international research infrastructures like EHRI and PARTHENOS. Based in Copenhagen, he combines academic rigor with product-driven engineering, often translating musicological insight into deployable models. An uncommon strength is his musician’s perspective, which informs model design and evaluation in ways that purely technical practitioners often miss.
