Java Re
Summary
👤
SeniorReza Rahman is a veteran technologist and project lead with over 15 years of enterprise Java and Jakarta EE leadership, currently spearheading the Jakarta Agentic AI specification at Payara. He has driven Java strategy and productization at Microsoft, Oracle, and major consultancies, helping enterprises like eBay, Comcast, and CapitalOne modernize with Java, Spring, and cloud-native runtimes. Author of EJB 3 in Action and a long-time conference speaker and Jakarta EE influencer, Reza blends deep protocol- and platform-level expertise with hands-on implementation experience (including implementing the EJB container for Resin). He has a rare combination of standards-level involvement—membership on Java EE, EJB, and JMS expert groups and Jakarta governance—and practical delivery, having led migrations, architecture teams, and commercialization efforts. Known for evangelism and community building, he helped create Cargo Tracker, led Java tracks at major conferences, and cofounded the Jakarta EE Ambassadors. Based in Greater Philadelphia, he frequently bridges vendor collaboration and customer modernization, and is now applying that pattern to make AI agents first-class citizens on Jakarta EE runtimes.
