Reza Shoghi is a PhD candidate in Epigenetics at the University of Amsterdam’s Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences, specializing in epigenetic cell memory and gene regulation. He holds a Master's in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Copenhagen, where he conducted thesis work in Professor Anja Groth’s lab at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research. With about eight years of research experience across molecular biology, cell culture, and immunology, he brings strong hands-on expertise in techniques from qRT-PCR and Western blotting to replication timing assays. Reza is driven by a translational vision to link fundamental epigenetic mechanisms to potential therapeutic strategies for diseases involving epigenetic dysregulation. Based in Amsterdam, he combines rigorous academic training with practical lab experience accumulated through multiple internships and focused projects. An inquisitive collaborator, he balances detailed experimental work with an eye for how cell memory shapes long-term gene expression and cellular identity.
