Top SchoolRhys Schmidtke is a Principal Engineering Manager with nine years of focused experience building BI and full-stack experiences, currently leading teams at Truveta in Seattle. He previously spent over a decade at Microsoft where he helped launch Power BI Report Server, revived SQL Server Reporting Services, and brought paginated RDL reports to PowerBI.com—work that blends deep product ownership with low-level report platform expertise. Comfortable in C#, JavaScript, and Kanban delivery, he pairs hands-on engineering with people leadership to ship scalable analytics features for Pro customers. Notably, his career arc moves from SDET through senior engineering roles to principal leadership, giving him a pragmatic appreciation for quality, testability, and long-term maintainability in data products.
